The Parish Council is saddened to report an increase in dog fouling at Station Town Cemetery.
While dogs are currently permitted on a lead within the cemetery grounds, it is not appropriate to use the cemetery as a space for exercising dogs. Most importantly, it is completely unacceptable and deeply disrespectful to fail to clean up after your dog.
Free dog waste bags and bins are available on-site to assist dog owners in keeping the cemetery clean and respectful for all visitors.
Cemeteries are places of reflection and reverence, where people come to mourn, remember loved ones, and find peace. Encountering dog waste on or near graves, or dogs off-lead chasing balls, is distressing and inappropriate.
If this issue continues, the Parish Council will be left with no choice but to review the current policy on dogs in the cemetery and consider installing CCTV to monitor the area.
We thank you for your understanding and cooperation in maintaining the dignity of this sacred space.
