The Parish Council allow visitors to walk dogs on a leash in Station Town Cemetery.
However, it is not appropriate to use the cemetery as a space for exercising dogs. It is also unacceptable not to clean up after your dog. Free dog waste bags are available at the cemetery as are bins.
Cemeteries are places of reverence and reflection, where people come to pay their respects to the deceased and find solace. Being greeted by an off-lead dog chasing their ball or dog waste on a loved one’s grave is totally unacceptable.
There are several places in the area suitable for exercising your dog, please abide by the rules imposed at the cemetery to respect our grieving visitors.
Should this problem persist, the Council will have no choice but to revisit their cemetery policy.
Thank you
Hutton Henry and Station Town Parish Council
